Overview
Spitfyre is a Science origin Blaster on the Guardian server. She was created as an homage to Firestorm, along with several other homage characters in the Agents of Earth supergroup.
Background
Born to Frank and Kathryn Romane, Carin was caught in a nuclear accident when her college physics class went on a field trip to the local nuclear power plant. She lapsed into a coma. Exposure to the nuclear radiation nearly killed her, but instead warped her body chemistry to deal with the radiation. In fact, the longer she lay in a coma, she began to emit radiation... more and more of it. She finally had to be transported to a secure research facility that had the capability of medical treatment and radiation containment.
When she woke, months later, the radiation she was generating abruptly stopped. When she was not allowed to phone her parents, she became angered and without meaning to, burst a computer and desk into flames. (She was then allowed to phone her parents.)
A top research team specializing in super-powers instructed Carin on containing and utilizing her powers. They taught her to control the energy she produced, transferring the energy into flames. Realizing what she could do with her new abilities, she bade a tearful goodbye to her parents and hometown, and made her way to Paragon City, RI, where she transferred her college credits to Paragon City University and registered to be a hero, naming herself "Spitfyre". She continues to train long-distance with the research team, in addition to getting hands-on training from her supergroup mates, building her powers to new heights.
Affiliations
Spitfyre is part of the supergroup called "Agents of Earth". She does not seem to socialize outside her supergroup and its coalition members. Her mother and father reside in Modesto, California, in the same house Carin was born and raised. She does not have a significant other, nor does she seem to be interested in anything other than her studies, both at the University and learning to control her energy.
Powers
- Fire Blast: Fire Blast, Fire Ball, Rain of Fire, Fire Breath
- Carin's fire powers come from controlling the radiation energy that builds up inside her. She has learned to harness that energy and create fire from it. Carin continues to train new ways to manipulate the energy.
- Energy Manipulation: Power Thrust, Build Up, Conserve Power
- In addition to fire, Carin has learned how to manipulate the radiation that is still within her, enabling her to supplement her powers with brief moments of even more devastating effects. This includes dealing more damage and lasting longer in a fight. She is still developing this internal power.
- Flight: Hover
- Through a complete fluke, Carin learned how to throw herself at the floor and miss. During a training exercise, she fell off a climbing wall and, instead of smacking into the cushioned floor as she expected, stopped abruptly a few feet from the ground, glowing brilliantly. It took many bruises to learn how to do this on command. While currently extremely slow at manipulating the energies required to accomplish this task, she is getting better at it.

- Not an effect of the radiation, though certainly boosted by it, Carin is simply a more healthy, dynamic human specimen. She has always been extremely fit.
Costumes
Spitfyre's first costume is an homage to Firestorm. Her second costume is an alteration, similar but different from the first.
Her third costume will be an homage to Firehawk, who was a love interest of Firestorm's. Fourth costume will be an homage to the villainess, Killer Frost, who was forced by another villain to fall in love with Firestorm. The fifth costume will be an homage to the villain who manipulated Killer Frost, Psycho-Pirate.
