== Overview ==

Mister Bones was previously known as Arlanus, a mutant hero that died during the first Rikti confrontation. At that time he was able to fly and he had kinetically based super strength and razor sharp reflexes. As Mister Bones his powers have changed. Lacking a physical mind, the kinetic powers of his former self are unavailable to him. His reflexes remain as sharp as ever, but his strength is all but gone. Now he can impale, break, reform and even throw his very bones at his enemies. Mister Bones is classified as Undead, but because of the crossing of origins he is immune to the effects of Undead Slaying weapons.

== Background ==

Mister Bones is the culmination of years of research and testing by the 
Vahzalok. The Meat Doctors theorized that by combining Magic with their Scientific chemicals would allow them to create and army skeletal warriors. Using a the body of a fallen Mutant hero from the first Rikti war called Arlanus, the Vahzalok began their experiment in, as usual, the rotting sewers of Paragon City. Unfortunately for them the ceremony/experiment went terribly wrong and instead of a mindless skeleton to do their bidding, they raised the spirit of the departed hero, Arlanus. The skeletal hero killed the Meat Doctors and scientists, destroyed their equipment and escaped into the city. 

Now living again (in a sense) Mister Bones (aka. Arlanus) vowed to use the powers given to this new body of his to fight the forces of evil once again. And this time he cannot be killed. He began working with Freedom Corps in 2004. Since then, Arlanus has tried to lead his life as he did before. But, being a nothing more than skeletal remains, no matter what he tries he may never be able to fit in. He takes his frustration out on his enemies, driving them into the dirt, more often killing them rather than arresting them. This vigilantism is being applauded in some circles and his name is being denounced in others. Nothing will sway him from his course and since he may never be able to be Arlanus again he will never call himself by that name. He will be Mister Bones forever on.

== Current Status ==

Mister Bones is a reserve leader of the Third Watch SG. He is currently classified as Retired while he undergoes a surgical process that may be able to give him skin again. So far he has undergone 14 procedures in his attempts to become normal again. Unfortunately the doctors are becoming less and less encouraged as they fail time and again.

== Multiple Origins ==

Although Mister Bones is officially classified a Mutant, elements of the Vahzilok experiment have left him with new powers given him by both Magic and Science as well. Arlanus was a pure Mutant and it was the combination of his genetic structure with the scientific and magical components that caused the experiment to fail. The Vahzilok have since stopped experimenting with Mutant DNA.
