| − | The Nosferatu were the first species of primates to evolve to a true civilization. Their DNA, while similar to that of Homo sapiens, was fundamentally altered by prolonged exposure to a meteorite of extra-solar origin. This mutation blessed the Nosferatu extraordinary tissue regeneration,which when augmented by the blood of other living creatures, could sustain their lives indefinitely. However, the mutation also caused a severe photo sensitivity and precluded the Nosferatu from having more than one offspring. By 10,000 B.C. they had watched the short lived, more primitive Homo sapiens evolve into an organized, pseudo-civilized race. Some of the Nosferatu, led by Aelfric Moore, wished to nurture the young civilization. Others led by Dracula wished to enslave them.
