Early Life
Maria Vasquez was born into a wealthy family. With being rich, pretty, smart and charming she was used to always get what she wants. Not willing to be a victim of anyone she started to take karate and kung-fu lessons in her youth and she turned out to be a natural talent.
Agent of Arachnos
At one time she realized that money, sportscars and boys aren't enough and that she needs more excitement in her life. Maria decided to move to Paragon City and use her martial arts skills to become a famous crime fighter. However, instead of becoming a famous hero she was approached by a woman, who turned out to be the Arachnos Spymaster Shadow Spider. She offered Maria to work for Arachnos and promised her power and might as a reward. She was thinking about the offer for some days, but finally accepted it.
The Fortunata Kalinda saw that Maria might be a great enrichment for Arachnos and let her participate in an experiment to create a "super-soldier". The experiment was a success and empowered her with enhanced reflexes, agility, speed and strength.
