Overview
Father Arcane sees himself as the right hand of Lord Recluse and the voice of God in the Rogue Isles. Whether or not Recluse sees him the same way is anyone's guess. He is known as the spiritual leader of Arachnos throughout the Rogue Isles and his power in this position is the envy of many. Ghost Widow herself finds Father Arcane to be a great help because of his connection to the darkness and the thousand and one demonic souls that reside within him. The wealth of information that they have provided has made many of her plans go much more smoothly than they otherwise might have. Father Arcane's patron, Scirocco also admires his powers but he has plans for him that even Ghost Widow cannot foresee. His Mus accompany Father Arcane nearly everywhere he goes and report back to him at every opportunity.
Background
Once Father Michael Dyers was just a normal Catholic priest. He had entered the priesthood on his eighteenth birthday and was sent to a parish in Woodhaven, RI to study under Father Francis DiAcoupa. Things were fine and for several years the parish ran without difficulty. Then one day a less than regular parishioner came to them complaining that her daughter was possessed and that she needed their help. Both he and Father DiAcoupa were skeptical at first, but after seeing the young girl first hand they were convinced that she was truly possessed. The Archdiocese was somewhat harder to convince however and was unwilling to perform such a backward and outdated ritual as an exorcism. They said they would send someone to review the case, but months went by and no one ever came.
Left on their own, Father DiAcoupa and Michael performed the ceremony themselves. Unfamiliar with the ceremony or the trappings of exorcism both men were tormented by the demons that possessed the girl as they attempted to force them out. Then when Father DiAcoupa started bleeding profusely from his ears Michael grabbed the girl by the shoulders and screamed at the demons. “Leave her you foul things!” he cried. “Take me instead!” And so they did. Michael was launched backward and crashed through a window falling four stories and the girl was saved.
Severely injured by his fall, Michael was taken directly to the hospital followed by Father DiAcoupa, whose bleeding had stopped, but when he awoke three weeks later he was no longer Michael. Now possessed by a thousand and one demonic souls, he was now the Legion and he controlled the powers of the darkness from whence the demons came. Now in this body the Legion could fully realize it's powers in our world. As he rose from bed his eyes flashed with red flames. The room grew dark and the nurse who was coming to check on him ran out screaming. Orderlies came running in just as he smashed the window glass and flew away.
For months the people of Woodhaven trembled in fear as body after body was found drained of all blood. It wasn't until 6 months later that Michael was captured by the Police thanks to help from a super hero called the Third. He was imprisoned in the Zigrurat in Paragon City. Unfortunately less than a month after his capture he was freed during an Arachnos raid on the Zig. Renamed Father Arcane by Kalinda, the Legion came to admire Arachnos and their methods and upon meeting Lord Recluse he knew he had found his place in the world. From here he would be able to kill more than he ever would have been able to alone. He would fill the darkness inside him with his victim's souls and the poor priest within him would only be able to watch as he did so.
After several years Father Arcane worked his way into the Arachnos hierarchy and eventually became the spiritual guide for the Arachnos command. As Lord Recluse's own personal channel to the spirit world he worked closely with Ghost Widow. Together they would consult the dead and plan for the future. Foretold in the eyes of the darkness Arachnos will rule the world. The forces of Paragon will be helpless to stop them. Not even the heavens can stop them with Father Arcane on their side.
Current Status
Father Arcane is currently on retired status for his SG as he works closely with Ghost Widow devising plans for the future of Arachnos. He still pays them regular visits for Friday services and their prayers to the darkness. Due to his ties with the Arachnos hierarchy his friends in Arachnos' Phobia are well treated by even the most ambitious Arachnos officials.
