The Hall of Doom is the Evil Twin of The Hall of Justice hero supergroup which plays on the Victory server.

The Hall of Doom has maintained a long-term coalition with Rogues Gallery (a Silver-Age comics inspired supergroup) and a few other groups that either had an interest in base-building or were founded or run by HOD members on Virtue.

This is the Supergroup, The Hall of Doom, which is a branch of The Hall of Justice. For other branches, see The Hall of Justice.

Guidelines

1. Fun – This is one of the most important rules of all; this is a game and its purpose is to entertain us and relax us from our other daily activities.

2. Team/Assist Members – It is every HOD members responsibility to help another HOD member who is in need of assistance or team. If you cannot provide assistance at that moment then you must inform your fellow HOD members of your status.

3. Smart – Playing "smart" is the key to winning the battle and minimizing casualties. In HOD, there is no such thing as a "gimped build" or "gimped AT." Your play style will determine how successful you are with your character.

CODE OF ETHICS

1. Respect – City of Heroes/City of Villains is being played in different countries with different cultural backgrounds and by people of all ages; therefore, you must use caution with your use of language and humor. Other members may take offense to what you may say in the communication (Team/Supergroup/etc.) channel, so be respectful.

2. Parking (AFK) – If you are on a team and must go Away From Keyboard, then you must inform everyone on the team and for how long. Do not AFK if you’re gaining low "xp" or "inf," if you really must go, then go.

3. Understanding – Communicate with each other if there is a difference in opinion between players by handling the matter through private “tells.”

4. Professionalism – Every member must conduct themselves in a professional way. Set a good example for HOD members and the community of the Virtue server.

5. Leveling – No Power Leveling shall be allowed on HOD supergroup. You must earn every XP you gain. You may team up with higher level heroes, but you must earn your XP by fighting and taking the same risk as your comrades.

TEAM REQUIREMENTS

1. Register on HOJ Forum – We require each member to register on our supergroup Forum. This is the best way to stay informed about our supergroup.

2. Reading – Members are required to check the “HOJ Announcements” and “HOJ/E Discussions” forums at least once a week, for new information.

3. HOD Super-suit – Please save one of your costume slots for the supergroup uniform. Members can find the specs of the supergroup uniform in the information section of The Hall of Doom website. We will provide infamy to members to purchase a costume change if nessasary.

4. Global Chat – All members are required to be part of the “HOJ” Global Chat. HOJ channel must be visible at all times because it is our main communication line between all HOD/J supergroups.

5. Greetings (Optional) – It is customary for HOD members to say “Hello” and “Goodbye” during log-in or log-out. Members are not required to do this, but we strongly recommend doing this basic greeting. This simple task increases the chance of “invite to team” almost immediately..

PLAYER ISSUES

1. Leave of Absence – If you are going on vacation or cannot play for a more than 30 days, then you must post the starting date and end date of your time off on our forum.

2. Player Complaints – If you have any complaints please seek the Founders or Siege Engineers.

3. Player Suggestions – If you have any suggestions or ideas please inform the Founders or Siege Engineers.

Base Storage

Storage is great and can be easily leveraged for a net gain in influence and prestige for the group.

For example, my 39 Science MM gets some Trainings and DO drops along with a few SOs of differing origin. I drop the everything I can't use off into storage and look for Science SOs of appropriate level and type. I find one and drop it into my inventory for combination.

Example 2: My Mutation corrupter hits 22 and is ready for SOs. I go to storage and see if there are any SOs I can slot. I find 3 and pull them out of inventory. I also see quite a few high level Trainings and SOs that no one will slot. I take those and sell them to finance a changeover to SOs.

Example 3: My 43 Natural Brute is infamy poor as he hasn't been earning inf since level 35. He turns off SG mode and quickly amasses close to a million infamy. He's then able to purchase his own SOs at 47. He also continues to drop all his Training, DOs and non-useful SOs into storage. He's also able to make inf grants to lower level characters who can't quite afford all the SOs they need/want.

Storage is a great way to get full value from enhancements. Instead of selling ones you can't use for less than half the purchase price, you save someone else from having to purchase it at full price.

Example 4: (Setting: Some time in the near future) My Mutation Dominator hits 32. She goes to storage and is able to find more than a third of her needed SOs. She then takes 10-20 level 40-53 DOs and sells them to get the rest. She knows that she's saved a bunch of inf by 'shopping locally'.

Some other storage hints:

Every time you pass through the base, sell your Catch a Breaths and Respites to the Auto-Doc/Tree of Wonder. It's an easy way to make 100-300 inf every trip. Over the course of a journey to 50 that adds up.

Every time you pass through the base, drop off your salvage. When it comes time for our architects to upgrade the base, they'll have access to plenty of materials to create new goodies.

Every time you pass through the base, drop off your medium and large inspirations as well as any awakens you don't need. Awakens are expensive for lower level characters, and if you're like me you usually end up deleting them to make room for other, more useful inspiration drops. Every Awaken a lower level character doesn't have to buy is 250 inf they can spend someplace else. Also those medium and large inspirations will be there for your next task/strike force, trial or AV battle.

By 2012, this policy had modified as follows: drop off only super and large inspirations; store level 51-53 SO enhancements and store all other SO enhancements only if there is room after storage of IO enhancements; drop off what salvage you felt you could spare for communal use.

Roster

Costumes

The uniforms for the Renegade, Enforcer and Recruiter ranks are very similar. The Renegade gives a simple black vest with the HOD skull symbol on it. The Enforcer upgrades to a more ornate vest with gold buttons and the HOD skull. The Recruiter adds bright red sleeves to the ornate vest and adds a snappy beret.

The Siege Engineer costume goes for a simple black sleeved jacket with a red shirt. It's an upgraded look and distinctive, yet still fits in with the other three ranks.

The Overlord costume is much more ornate and allows for uniqueness, yet there is still an overt similarity between all options. The optional hat carries the impression of a mastermind plotting to take over the world, which fits the HOD concept. Making the hat optional allows for a variety of leaders in different styles of hats, hoods and helmets according to personal preference and character tendencies.
