The Nocturnal Cross

Overview

Cursed to always wear his armour, nothing but a wraith inside until redemtion or for eternity. Sir Donald is simply known now as 'The Nocturnal Crusader'

History

1092

Only known portrait of Sir Donald the Nocturnal, without wearing helm, in existance

The Crusades in Leon were grim indeed. The Church and England were losing the battle in the south west and all the armies of England sent there could not penetrate the vast bastions of the Turkish Muslims. One such army leader was Sir Bernard Richardson, the favourite of King William the 1st or, as he was better known, William the Conqueror. Sir Bernard the Strong was in such dire need of help that he turned to the only man he thought strong enough to turn the tide in their favour. Sir Donald the Nocturnal.

Unlike many of the knights of King William the 1st, Sir Donald did not follow, nor answer to, his Fathers Surname. He had enlisted himself since his Fathers death (Sir Donald Buckhold) as Sir Donald the Nocturnal. Not did he have a ruler to answer to. Sir Donald the Nocturnal was a man, and county, to himself.
