Origin

Nylsia Leighton was one of many Paragon City citizens that have been kidnapped by the Circle of Thorns to be used in one of their rituals, but she was rescued by a passing hero before the ritual could be completed. Her feelings of helplessness while a captive and the brush with dark magic aroused Nylsia's own desire for power. She studied the occult to develop her own ability with a hellfire whip and forged a dark covenant with a demonling named Aodh. Regardless of her new power, Nylsia was still inexperienced. Her first outing as villain led to her capture by the very same hero that had rescued her from the Circle of Thorns, and Nylsia was confined to Zigursky Penitentiary.

Nylsia escaped to Mercy Island when Arachnos assaulted the prison looking for the Destined Ones and quickly established herself as a reliable and deadly mercenary. Her power and infamy have both flourished in the Rogue Isles, and she now commands several demons. However, Nylsia's thirst for power may ultimately bring about her doom, as she has neglected to protect herself from the hellish influence of her minions -- as her power grows, her own appearance becomes more demonic. Eventually she may become a demon herself, bound to do the bidding of some infernal master.

Super Groups

Nylsia was once a member of the villain group The BLC until their surfing and slacking caused her interest to wane. She quit the group to form her own, The Red and the Black, of which she is currently the sole member.
