Background

Forum Thread: PCSF

This group was formed by a somewhat secret organization that was a splinter from the FBSA known as the Edge of Chaos (or EoC). It was composed of many of the same folks who served as contacts in Atlas Park and Galaxy City (before it was destroyed) to new heroes. The EoC had it's own goals and motivations, many of which were not shared in full with the members of the PCSF before they joined up... this would later serve to cause conflict within the group.

The PCSF was formed in order to give the FBSA a private team of supers that could do operations that were either too dangerous for actual FBSA agents, or operations in which the notoriety of the FBSA as a unit would cause unnecessary problems. So, the PCSF served the function of unofficial goon squad for a period of time...

...until after the team was sent on a mission of great importance by none other than Positron himself (See: Task Force Summary for more information), that is!

The Rebellion

Due to the events that transpired during the course of Positron's little mission, Nyrisa became ill, and other members noticed a shift in her personality. This was the beginning of the end for the PCSF as a group of errand boys for the FBSA.

However, it wasn't until after Nyrisa went off by herself to meet up with someone who had contacted her about a cure that things really started to change. After this meeting, Nyrisa dissappeared! And it later became clear, when the group set out to find her, that she had died... only to be replaced by a clone with no memory of many of the events the team had suffered through! All of this ended up being the work of Jonathon St. John Smythe, who had been the contact with whom the PCSF had been working with the closest. This revelation proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

It was at this point, that the PCSF disavowed any ties to the FBSA, donned new uniforms (shown below) and began the quest in earnest to completely destroy the Edge of Chaos!

Fortunately for them, the group was not all bad, and Azuria surfaced as a contact working to help them take down the likes of Dr. Smythe. Without her help, the rest of the team's goals would have been all but impossible.

Uniforms

Each member of the PCSF was originally given a Uniform resembling the one pictured below. This was worn by the members when they started out on their missions as assigned by the Edge of Chaos. However, as the group became more and more united, and as a consequence more and more invested in each other's well-being, the fact that the Edge of Chaos had been manipulating each member all along caused the uniform to fall out of use.

Instead a uniform in gold and black was created and was worn throughout their career as a Vigilante squad bound to dismantle the Edge of Chaos from the inside out!

Metagame Information

This section pertains to out-of-game information and is included for the benefit of the reader, or to include other OOC information.

This SG was the idea of Nyrissa, and continued to blossom from there. We spent a good long while thinking about the premise of the group in Facebook discussions, and then moved to the above-linked forum thread to hash it out more. Eventually, we got a name, an icon, a uniform, etc.

From there, we developed a storyline of why we were together and what our aim was. It was great fun, and eventually culminated in our group going Vigilante and also writing 4 or 5 AE Arcs to go into detail about our backgrounds and interactions with other members of the greater Paragon City world.

Our most significant contacts were with the former starting contacts for the game (Azuria, Dr. St. John Smythe, etc.). They, to us at least, were a part of a group called the Edge of Chaos (named for the badge in that hallway of City Hall).

However, like a lot of things, our devotion to the group waned when our ideas for RP in the group dwindled. We got a bit sick of clones... and had one of our members die.
