I was wondering if it would somehow be possible to create a category for those characters that share a link to one another by being Praetorian/Primal counterparts? However, due to the nature of that, it would be especially cool if there were some way to group such characters together, as opposed to merely being alphabetized like in normal category listings... is there some way to pulll this off, or would it be entirely too much of a pain to make that happen?  —[[User:Thirty7|Thirty7]] [[File:Talk-Icon.jpg|link=User talk:Thirty7]] 06:24, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

:We could make Category:Praetorian Counterpart and Category:Primal Counterpart, but there would be no way to distinguish in the category lists which Primal character is the counterpart of which Praetorian character (unless, of course, they were named similarly, but this is most definitely not always the case). ~ {{:User:Aggelakis/Sig1}} 09:34, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, Aggelakis, and welcome to the Ouroboros Portal! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Feel free to fill out your personal user page so we can get to know you. There is a collection of Userboxes you can easily add there. Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date.

Don't forget to drop by and introduce yourself in the forum. It will require a separate registration (login and password), but most users use the same username in both places. There's even an RSS Feed, if you're into that.

If you need help, ask me on my talk page or ask on the forums and someone will try to to answer your questions shortly.

Also, make sure you take a look at the Help page. There are a lot of preloaded images, missions, and contact info templates, and what you want to add might already be there.

Again, welcome! -- Eabrace 22:18, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

How do I put my files on here ? KAKTOS 14:13, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Heraclea Images

Thanks. Most of them were just made one day when I went through the character screens and screen capped each character I eventually plan to write an article for. Now my repetitious and unoriginal costume designs are pretty blatant. (Well, the first one is usually a uniform.) - Heraclea 16:47, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Category

Thanks for the category! :D This wiki looks like a fun place. :) --Patteroast 23:47, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks so much for the help! New to the Wiki thing, but I'm trying to learn... Ringwood 02:04, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the categories :) --Piemanmoo 05:48, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

MiniChar

I knew it! I went to look up parser extension functions on mediawiki, and by the time I came back ready to try the #switch function, you'd beat me to it. XD Thank you, though! --Rugiel 02:58, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

User Image Categories

Since we've started adding unique User Images and UserName categories, do we want to go ahead and retroactively do the same for some of the images currently located in Category:Character_Images? --Eabrace 14:20, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm thinking we might want to go ahead and do that - partially for consistency, probably more for maintainability as the O-portal grows. That way if someone who only has one or two images decides they want to add a whole bunch more, they've already got somewhere to put them.
Maybe more importantly, if someone has one image in the Character Images category today and adds one more once each week for the next three months, it might take us a while to notice that they now have a significant number of images for their characters. When we do notice, we'll have to retroactively go back through and change the categories on all of them to separate them into a new category. If we just create the new category right off the bat, we might save ourselves some work down the road.
And I suspect, as time goes by, if we just keep putting all of the character images for people who only upload one or two into the same category, we're going to eventually end up with a really big category of images that needs to be sorted out. And my wrist still hurts from sorting out all those uncategorized images on Paragon Wiki over the weekend.  :)
I knew you had a template sitting somewhere for notifying people about their new categories, but couldn't remember where it was. Thanks for the reminder. --Eabrace 18:32, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Fiction questions

Hi there -- I was going to start working up a bit of a story bible and timeline for the stuff me and my group of RPers have gotten up to, but wasn't sure how to categorize it. We're all on Justice and call ourselves the Justice Server Role Players, but we don't intend for our canon to apply to ALL of Justice.. if that makes sense. Justice is just where we reside, it's not our jurisdiction. How would I categorize the timeline et al? General Fiction, Justice Fiction, etc? -- Ringwood 22:04, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Hiya! I would put a category in called "Justice Server Role Players", then put that category inside the Justice Universe Fiction category. That way you're still connected to the Justice Fiction. :) -- Agge (talk) 00:09, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Dumb question... how do I make a category? Ringwood 02:51, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
Put it at the bottom of an appropriate page just like you would when you're using an already existing category. Then follow the redlink that makes on the bottom of the edited page, and put the Justice Universe Fiction category in that. :) -- Agge (talk) 03:19, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
You're awesome. Thanks! Ringwood 08:00, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Bowie Avvy

Thanks Agge, but no worries. I was attempting to host a main boards avatar on the O-Wiki--which worked just fine. Just can't get any images to work on the main boards, so just deleted them. Thanks! ~T~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Than (talkcontribs) 17:04, August 4, 2009

What are you having trouble with? Are you linking the wiki URL

Supergroup Naming Convention

Hey, Agge. Sorry, but I made two new supergroup pages without following the standard convention, read your message too late. Any help you can provide, would be appreciated, I don't know how to move or change the page titles.

Placeholder Categories?

Just had a thought and wanted to get it written out before it escapes me. For pages that are added without proper categorization or named incorrectly (i.e. someone adds a page for their super group but forgets to name the article with the server the group resides on), should we create a placeholder category? Something like "Category: Unidentified Server", perhaps?

Just thinking...

Fabulous idea! Whipped up Category:Unknown Server and Category:Unknown Archetype... I put them in the Category:Things To Do category. ~ AGGE talk/cons 17:34, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Should old Hero/Villain Specific Templates be Updated?

Am thinking specifically of things like the CharInfoV and CharInfoH templates. Currently, while it is now possible to have (for example) a Stalker that is a Hero, the CharInfoH template doesn't recognize that and can't display the Archetype icon. Shouldn't take a huge amount of time I wouldn't think, though I could be wrong.

Garielle 17:09, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Did I break something when I put the new template together? My intent wasn't to force anyone to change their characters they'd already recorded (which is why I left the old templates there rather than deleting them). --Eabrace 14:11, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

Seldom Images

Thank you for taking the time to set up a category for my uploads. I'm unfamiliar with wikis, so I'll bumble my way around the resources available to make sure my additions are all kosher. Again, thanks for taking the time and for the resource links you shared earlier. Seldom 03:56, 23 November 2011 (UTC)Seldom

A bit of help with Images

I was wondering if you could maybe lend me a hand with something... because I sure can't figure it out myself. I have gone through about 8^37th different tags and placements and simply can't figure out how to do something on Slashblot (Infinity)'s page. I have been trying to move the Inksplat.png so that it will sit along the Character Box to help fill up a bit of that ugly trapped whitespace in the "Quiz Time!" section and can't get it to wrap the text around it and stay against the Character Box. Like I said, I tried a ton of tags, and locations and can't get it to work.

Any advice would be stellar! (Prolly best to answer on my Talk page, I think.)

Thanks in advance!  :)

Categorizing

Sorry about the categorizing of those Icons... I noticed that accroding to the "Uncategorized Images" page that perhaps they needed one, but once I was finished I noticed the "shared" bit, and stopped there without doing the other ones with the same tag. Sorry about the extra work in you having to un-do it.  :( ~ Thirty7 Talk-Icon.jpg File:Contrib-Icon.jpg 05:25, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

It's no big deal. I hadn't looked at the uncategorized files list in a frightfully long time or I would have done it earlier. :) I cleaned out the rest of them since you mentioned more. Thanks for all your hard work! ~ AGGE talk/cons 01:09, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Images

Thank you for creating that category for me! I tried to upload one more image, but it didn't go into the category you created for me and Im unsure how to move it there... I apologize for my naivete regarding this  :/
