Inspiration
Storm Maiden is based on the Marvel character Storm (Ororo Munroe).
Early Life
Ororo Miller was born in New York City. Because of her unusual white hair and blue eyes she got picked on by her classmates at school. When her mutant powers to control the weather and electricity became active during Ororo's puberty, her parents decided to move with her to Paragon City, where mutants and other super-powered beings are kind of something usual.
Joining the Outcasts
But even in Paragon City, Ororo never felt like a part of the society, until she met some members of a gang calling themselves the Outcasts, consisting entirely of mutants with elemental powers...
In the Outcasts, Ororo saw some "soulmates" and asked them if she could join. After demonstrating her powers the Outcasts were impressed and introduced her to their leader Frostfire. He realized Ororo's potential and accepted her in the ranks of his group, giving her the alias "Weather Witch". Since then she helped the Outcasts commiting several robberies and fighting the Trolls in the Hollows. After some weeks in the gang she even became Frostfire's girlfriend.
Storm Maiden & Thunderman
Everything changed when Frostfire told her to lead a group of Outcasts into the Tunnels of the Trolls to destroy them with bombs, which would cause many of the Trolls to die. Not willing to cause the death of so many people, she refused to obey Frostfire's orders and tried to convince him and the other Outcasts that killing them would be wrong. Frostfire counted this as a betrayal, used some magical chains on her that neutralized her powers and locked her in a small room.
After being in this prison for three days, Mighty Thunderman led a team of superheroes into Frostfire's hideout to arrest the Outcasts' leader. They defeated Frostfire and after the fight Thunderman noticed that someone was knocking against a door. He used his hammer to break the door open and freed Ororo. Thunderman then brought the weakened mutant girl immediately to the PPD's medical station in the Hollows.
Thunderman helped her to start a new life free of crime and taught Ororo to use her powers to defend and help people. The two eventually became close friends and partners. From then on she was known as "Storm Maiden", Thunderman's sidekick.
G.I.F.T.
With the intention to help other mutants to controlling their powers and using them the right way, Ororo started to work for G.I.F.T. (Genetic Investigation and Facilitation Team) in the office of the African ambassador Prince Kiros Nandelu, who is a mutant aswell.
