Ace Jones is a slack jawed skirt chasing hero operating out of Paragon City with the mutant ability to generate and project vast amounts of raw energy. While his personality and reputation wouldn’t label him as a stalwart crusader of justice he has proven time and again his heart is in the right place and that he gets the job done - in style.
Character History
Starting Out
Ace is the youngest of two siblings whose family originally moved to Paragon City when he was only child, his father seeking to get away from the grief of the loss of his wife whom had tragically passed away during Ace's infancy. His father was a military man and soon found work with the inter dimensional defence organisation known as Vanguard. He and his brother enjoyed ordinary childhoods and went on to join Paragon's University while his brother pursued a career with the military and would go on to join Vanguard's cadets. When Ace was 21 he was visited by one of Vanguard's officers, both his father and brother were Missing In Action following a disrupted mission. Due to the sensitive nature of their mission the details could not be divulged leaving the young Jones fraught with sorrow and rage. Gripped with this anger he lashed out at the officer, and to his surprised sent him flying halfway across the street as a strange blue energy surrounded his fist. He passed out. When he came to, Ace was in hospital - and as with any hospital in Paragon they were accustomed to dealing with 'supers'. Blood samples had been taken and it appeared that the stress of his news had forced a latent mutant ability hidden within his DNA to manifest. To his disbelief Ace now found himself in possession of super powers. He was discharged and made his way home, and had made his mind up of what to do. He would find them both. Breaking into his father's secure locker at home, he found a tactical suit and re-coloured it to create his first costume. While Vanguard was a closed door to him and lacking direction, he was sure these new powers would be the tool to uncover the whereabouts of his missing family. To that end he began making his way to the Super Hero Registry at City Hall...it was sirens blazed and the sky took on a green hue as the Rikti appeared.
- The Heroics (Defiant Supergroup) – Ace Jones was one of first members of the group and remains active to the present day.
Enemies
- Tyrant Jones – Ace's brother, he is a former Vanguard operative who was forced through the Bane Spider training program. He was freed from Arachnos’ control after becoming separated from the Bane Spiders’ hive mind, though there is no trace of his former self and all that remains is a twisted, vengeful and ruthless individual.
