Ace Jones was, along with his elder brother Zeta Jones, was an up-and-coming member of the Longbow Special Operations division filling the role of a sniper. He excelled at his occupation picking up the nickname 'Ace' for his outstanding marksmanship and enjoyed a sibling rivalry with his brother as the two constantly trained and fought to outdo eachother leading to the pair progressing far more rapidly than their peers. On the eve of Ace's 22nd birthday he collapsed in a night club and was rushed to hospital where he spent two weeks in a coma. When he awoke he complained of a tingling sensation before indavertadly blowing a hole through the ceiling with a bolt of energy from his hand. His fainting had been brought on by the sudden manifestation of a mutant genome in his DNA that had now granted him the ability to generate and manipulate pure energy.

Ace is the youngest of two siblings whose family originally moved to Paragon City when he was only child, his father seeking to get away from the grief of the loss of his wife whom had tragically passed away during Ace's infancy. His father was a military man and soon found work with the inter dimensional defence organisation known as Vanguard. He and his brother enjoyed ordinary childhoods and went on to join Paragon's University while his brother pursued a career with the military and would go on to join Vanguard's cadets.

When Ace was 21 he was visited by one of Vanguard's officers, both his father and brother were Missing In Action following a disrupted mission. Due to the sensitive nature of their mission the details could not be divulged leaving the young Jones fraught with sorrow and rage. Gripped with this anger he lashed out at the officer, and to his surprised sent him flying halfway across the street as a strange blue energy surrounded his fist. He passed out.

Having become disillusioned with [[Longbow]] and getting closure regarding his fathers disappearance, Ace decided to go freelance with his newfound mutant abilities and signed with the Paragon City Hero Register becoming an officially recognised super hero in the winter of 2007. He re-coloured a special ops uniform he had managed to retain from his Longbow unit s his first costume and set about fighting crime, wherever he could find it. Things initially went well for the young mutant who broke up street gangs and robberies and, through sheer luck, stumbled upon a [[Superadine]] stockpile in a Skulls controlled warehouse which he turned over to the authorities. Impressed, the [[Paragon Police Department]] (PPD) granted Ace access to their radio communications to listen out for potential missions and was put in touch with [[David Wincott]], an officer leading the PPD’s efforts in [[The Hollows]].

Buoyed by a string of easy victories and an swelling ego Ace dived into The Hollows paying little attention to warnings of the officers stationed there. It wasn’t long before he came up against a foe far superior to anything he’d encountered back in Atlas Park, a Magmite Lord of the Minions of Igneous. It was then that the mysterious Mr Thin rescued the young mutant, placing the creature in a deep sleep allowing Ace to escape.

Mr Thin introduced Ace to a fellow energy wielding super human in the form of Staar Fury who took under his wing, teaching him about life as a super hero and how to develop his powers further. Under his tutelage Ace began to truly master the energy powers he had attained, learning how to focus his energies to grant him super speed and flight as well as to concentrate energy around his fists giving him fierce hand to hand abilities. It was during this training that Ace first encountered The Aweosmizer and Starsabre and the trio were offered a place within the super group Staar Fury was putting together – [[The Heroics]].

Ace Jones is a mutant capable of generating and controlling large quantities of raw energy and few can match the sheer volume and potency of his attacks but severely lacks in defensive abilities.

His primary use of energy is to fire beams or waves of concussive energy with varying degrees of potency (the more power his builds up, the more powerful the beam). Rather than firing a ranged attack, he is also capable of concentrating the energy into a form of 'energy glove' around his fists adding potent concussive force to his fists which has sometimes mislead individuals to the believe that he possesses super strength.

As he mastered his powers Ace has become far more attuned to energy and is able to focus his powers inwards in order to temporarily heighten his senses, reduce fatigue or increase adrenaline. He is also able to use this same inward focus to move at super speeds and even fly.

Recently Ace has displayed the abilities to focus energy to the point of combustion and create fire. He has used this to generate a sort of fire shield granting a certain amount of defence uncommon among blaster type heroes. He has also learnt to manipulate this 'energy fire' into a blazing pool of repellent energy allowing him to prevent foes from reaching him as his main defence is maintaining a distance.

Arguably his most impressive power is the ability to pull his molecules back together. Ace’s most devastating attack is the Nova where he gathers energy inside himself and releases it at point blank range with immense destructive force usually levelling the area and any opponents around him. He can take his technique a step further and actually explode such is the ferocity of the attack in a form of self destruct leaving only an energy aura where he had once stood. This is in fact Ace’s essence as he has progressed to the point where he exists as energy and given time is able to draw his molecules back together in a form of self resurrection making him not only dangerous but far more tenacious than the average blaster.
