Biography

Power. This is the driving force of James Garver's life. In high school, he was constantly on a quest for the most of everything: status, money, grades, popularity... everything. And to this end, he was often one of the most vicious of bullies around. In fact, it is this role that brought him to meet Alex Hale (better known as Arcforce). James and Alex share many an unhappy meeting. Until, that is, Alex's electrical abilities come to bear. Alex has finally developed his long-overdue mutant abilities. And James is livid! His bullying of Alex stops abruptly, but by this time high school is coming to an end anyway.

James Garver eventually develops his own mutant powers: to control, manifest and manipulate flames. Had he gained these powers at a younger age he would surely have been a prodigious arsonist. But, as it was, he wanted to gain as much power and prowess with these powers as he could. And so he trained in the Rogue Isles in the use of his abilities, going after any contact he could that promised him power, money, or fame. He did, however, try to stay off of the radar of Arachnos and other powerful factions as much as he could. Finally, when he learned of the path to Incarnatehood... he couldn't resist going after it.

James re-dedicated his life to climbing the Incarnate pyramid, as it were. And as a result, met Arcforce once more. And his old rivalry and jealousy were re-kindled.

James decided that he would need to form a team of would-be Incarnates himself in order to take down Arcforce and the other Fated Ones. To this end, he formed the Acolytes out of whatever forces he could find!
