Origin

Ailah Kurenai was born and raised in the city of Arachrist, Nevada. She lived a normal life, conversed regularly, and made friends like anyone else. Arachrist was a rather uneventful town, itself. Filled with (mostly) regular people, nothing ever truly fantastic or amazing happened there. An occasional would-be villain or hero, but not much else. Then, as Ailah was going through the final stages of puberty, things started to change... and not in the natural way. She began growing several inches over the course of weeks, until she finally stopped at her current 8 foot height within a month. The freakish growth spurt obviously panicked the 17-year old, as well as her parents. Fearing something was wrong, she was taken in to see a doctor. As the good doc attempted to take a blood sample, the needle broke, to everyone's surprise. The doctor examined Ailah and noticed that she had no scars from the sudden growth spurts, and determined it to be a form of accelerated healing process that her new body is going through. While this relieved the Kurenai family, it didn't protect them from the events to come.

Arachrist Blues

Ailah wasn't the only one to gain strange changes. Many other teenagers, including her classmates, were effected as well. Some managed to keep it a secret, while a few, such as Ailah, had no control over their appearance or powers. Those who were found out to be the special were somewhat outcast, though not outwardly hated. They were given the name "Boomer Teens". It only took a rowdy group of Boomer Teens and one wrong word to cause an uproar. A man was killed in the crossfire that ensued, and that was enough to cause the city to go on an anti-super campaign. In a year, the city would become a mini-warzone.

Wrath of the Blue Lass

Ailah began skipping classes to avoid being confronted by people that wanted her to join the rebelling Boomer Teens and the teachers and classmates that saw her as a threat. The only ones that understood her were her parents and her fellow Boomer classmate, Xochitl del Rio, AKA Destello, a member of the rebellion. Ailah just wanted things to go back to the way they were. It wasn't until a mob burned down her home in an attempt to kill her and her parents that Ailah realized that there was no going back. Enraged, she lashed out at the mob, nearly killing some of them. After realizing what she had done, she saw the fear in their eyes. Monster, she thought. They all think I'm a monster. So she would become a monster. At 19, Ailah became The Blue Lass. For a year, she would rampage about the city, fighting for no other cause than to please her thirst for destruction.

From Coal to Diamond

For the last part of the year, a bounty hunter by the name of Twinjet would appear in Arachrist to quell some of the more troublesome Boomers. Along with another group of heroes, they were able to convince an entire group of rebellious Boomers over to their side, with minimal bloodshed. The civilians of Arachrist were thankful, and the war seemed to have ended. Only a few Boomers were left to round up, The Blue Lass among them. As a last-ditch effort, they rushed the heroes before either being taken down or retreating. After what seemed like hours, Twinjet realized she couldn't win with brute force alone. Before Twinjet could do anything, however, Ailah's parents pleaded with her to stop the fighting. Her mother told her she didn't have to fight anymore, that the war was over and everyone had already learned the error of their ways. Many of the Boomers either joined the heroes or simply vanished. Ailah broke down, crying tears of joy, the citizens of Arachrist smiling with her. Destello, however, refused to accept the apologies, and left the city, promising revenge for Ailah's "betrayal". Nevertheless, after that day, Ailah signed up for superhero registration, now under the name Diamond Eagle.

Appearance

Ailah stands at an imposing 8-foot-6, with a highly developed athletic build. She tends to keep her hair short, mostly because when your hair is as strong as steel, you don't want that smacking anyone in the face. As a result, she gets haircuts via laser treatment. Despite her past and sometimes intimidating displays of power, Ailah is very much a kind and understanding person, and is quite approachable. Just watch your feet.

Hand-to-Hand Combat

Ailah's nigh-impenetrable skin and extremely dense bone structure makes her an excellent close quarters fighter.

Regeneration

Ailah's entire body has been altered to be the best it can be, but even her best sometimes leaves her with more than a few injuries. This is where her healing process comes in. Given a few moments, she can even heal from laser blast fire and be left without a mark. The process always leaves her somewhat tired, and maybe even a little sickened. "How would you feel if you could take a knife to the face and say that it doesn't feel weird?"

Physical Training

Ailah is no slouch when it comes to keeping in shape. As a result of her training, she is able to run faster, heal even faster, and maintain her stamina longer.

Super Speed

Ailah first realized she could run at breakneck speeds during her Boomer years. After missing the train, Ailah opted to run to school, thinking she could at least make it to her other classes. Her jog gradually turned into a sprint, and her sprint into a mad run. She kept running, and running and running... She didn't grow tired, and she would have kept running if she hadn't run head-first into a brick wall.

Laser Vision

Probably one of her favorite powers, and proudly demonstrates it. After a brutal training session with The Manliest Man Alive, Ailah had a renewed sense of vigor on what it means to be a true warrior. After a short talk, MMA decided it was time for some flapjacks, and after punching out some wood started a fire using the laser vision that he forgot he had. When Ailah finally returned home, she decided she'd give it a shot, despite how silly the thought was that all you had to do was concentrate and holycrapIjustmadeburnmarksontheplateawesome.

Activities

Ailah is fascinated by other dimensions, and can often be seen around Peregrine Island, waiting for the right job to explore another world, however different or plain it may be compared to Earth. She takes great joy in taking on Nemesis' minions, as well as the Rikti, two factions she's always found interesting since she made the move to Paragon. She also makes regular trips to Ouroboros, also astonished by time travel.

Diamond Eagle on...

Her name

Ailah named herself Diamond Eagle after discovering that she could, in fact, crush diamonds (it REALLY hurts, though), and her natural affinity for eagles (the average female eagle tends to be larger than the male).

Dating

She has given hints at wanting to find "the right guy" at times. As of late, she has yet to find a boyfriend that she hasn't accidentally hospitalized for one reason or another.
