Origin
Astonishingly handsome and naturally athletic, Christian Welling began weight training in his early teens and by his 18th birthday had become the most photographed male fitness model in the world. His perfectly chiseled body open up doors of opportunity that most people only dreamed of. Hobnobbing with A-list actors, rock stars and royalty was the norm. Despite Christian’s inherently kind nature, the attention and adoration went to his head.
By the age of 21, Christian had gotten lost in a sea of booze, drugs and hard partying. His attitude had also declined and few agencies would hire him due to his primadonna like behavior.
That all changed on the day he met Brandon Christopher. Brandon was the owner of the successful ‘Hardbody Gyms’ chain of fitness centers. Looking for a new spokesman, Brandon saw the upstanding person Christian could become and hired him on.
The two became fast friends and eventually lovers. On Christian’s 25th birthday, he and Brandon were married.
Unfortunately, The Family had taken an interest in ‘Hardbody Gyms’ and began to put pressure on Brandon to either sell or pay them a monthly “security” fee. Brandon refused and was brutally murdered by Family henchmen.
Christian spiraled into a deep state of depression at the loss of his soul mate. At the reading of Brandon’s will, Christian received ownership of the gyms and a sealed envelope containing a safety deposit box key. Upon opening the deposit box, Christian was shocked to discover news clippings and personal memorabilia confirming that Brandon was actually Mr. Amazing, a superhero that had operated during World War II.
Brandon had received amazing powers by reading a mystical scroll that turned him into an Avatar for the demigod Hercules. Eventually being stripped of his powers by his archenemy, Brandon was still blessed with an extended youth, appearing to be only in his mid-thirties when he died.
Examining the ‘Hercules Scroll’, Christian suddenly found himself able to read the ancient text. He was chosen as the new Avatar. Dubbing himself Hardbody, Christian now fights against injustice and one day hopes to have revenge on the men who ordered Brandon’s murder.
Powers & Abilities
Strength Level: Hardbody possesses superhuman strength allowing him to lift (press) over 100 tons.
Super Powers: As the Hercules Avatar, Hardbody has a vast array of powers at his command. Superhuman strength, speed, endurance and invulnerability are his chief weapons. He has been known to withstand an atomic blast, however damage at that magnitude does weaken him. By channeling the mystic energy inside him, Hardbody can also fire a laser-like beam from his eyes and hands. Hardbody is also capable of flight, able to reach speeds just under the speed of sound.
Special Abilities: Hardbody is considered by many to be one of the most attractive men in the world. While not a power per say, it does come with certain advantages when dealing with people. He is very charming and can often diffuse a situation before a punch is thrown.
Untrained in fighting techniques, Hardbody relies on his superior strength and invulnerability to squash his foes.
Personality: Christian is generally an energetic, happy person. His former party ways and selfish attitude are a thing of the past and he is now committed to carrying on the high moral values he learned during his time with Brandon Christopher.
