Icecore (Virtue)
Affiliations
Icecore is a student with Squadron X (Virtue Supergroup). Although he has no particular affiliation with the Outcasts, this criminal gang of elemental-powered mutants seems to be determined to recruit the young Icecore into their ranks - or to harm him and those close to him if he refuses.
Backstory
Cory Watkins only recently discovered that he was a mutant after falling through a thin layer of ice while he was playing ice hockey with some friends. Cory survived the exposure, and paramedics were stunned to pull the teenage boy from the lake an hour after he was submerged and his body temperature dropped well below the point where death should have occured. Cory was examined by doctors from GIFT who determined that he was in fact a mutant, one with the ability to manipulate both ice and cold.
Cory's parents were uncertain of how to help their son cope with his new life as a mutant, so they requested that GIFT help their son. Cory was the first mutant to become enrolled in the Squadron X (Virtue Supergroup) program, and he is well on his way to graduating from his classes with high honors. Although he once had a dream to be a professional hockey player, Cory is now more dedicated to becoming the hero Icecore. Cory is a charismatic teenager who has the potential to become a very capable leader in time.
