Background
Roselyn Stoneflint grew up in privilege in suburban Northern Virginia. Despite her advantages, and her parents' bourgeois sensibilities, Roselyn developed an innate sense of justice and looking out for others at an early age. Her elementary school record is rife with disciplinary notices of fighting, but in all cases it was a matter of inserting herself in situations where a bully was trying to pick on a younger, weaker, or smaller classmate. In particular, Roselyn would tolerate no one picking on her younger sister Crystal.
Roselyn was particularly attracted to the outdoors, and felt very strongly about causes to help the environment. Roselyn and Crystal would go camping at any opportunity, and they especially enjoyed hiking and rock climbing. Roselyn also became sexually active at a young age, enjoying both the physical pleasure and emotional and spiritual attachment that could be achieved through sex acts.
Roselyn was stunned when at age 16 her skin seemed to harden at will, and then gradually turn green. Her concerned parents rushed her to the doctor, who confirmed that Roselyn had a genetic mutation. As the changes to her body intensified, Roselyn discovered that she could manipulate earth and rocks themselves, attracting them to her body to form protective layers. She also developed a gentle attunement with the planet itself, drawing strength from its bedrock.
With her increasing abilities, she found she could not stand for the environmental havoc being caused by nearby corporations such as Cargill,Massey Energy, and Crey Industries. Roselyn became an outspoken environmental activist and protester. At one protest, anti-regulation counter-protesters instigated a brawl. True to form, Roselyn beat back those that would hurt her friends, an act that left five right-wing nutjobs in the hospital and Roselyn in jail.
Though the charges were eventually reduced and Roselyn was sentenced to time served and released, her parents disowned her. Roselyn decided to move on to Paragon City, with its much more liberal stance on heroic justice, and take up the superhero name Rosa Quartz.
Rosa Quartz has helped the city in many of its most difficult times, including The Hollowing, the Second Rikti Invastion, and the Deadly Apocalypse.
Personality
Rosa Quartz is brash, bold, and supremely self-assured. Her knack for looking out for others often has her in the forefront of a fight, taking blows and bullets for the team.
Rosa has a voracious sexual appetite, which battle only makes more acute. It is not uncommon for teams that include Rosa Quartz to enjoy memorable post-action orgies. Rosa is a gifted sexual partner for both men and women, and is a favorite of customers of the House Of Emerald Strumpets.
Current Status
Rosa Quartz is a founding member of the House Of Emerald Strumpets supergroup, whose objectives combine Rosa's love of justice and sex. Rosa Quartz has been praised by city officials and fellow superheroes alike, and was awarded the prestigious Hero of the City designation.
Rosa has been a volunteer working in the Rikti War Zone with Vanguard, but considers Crey Industries a primary enemy.
Rosa's younger sister has also manifested an earth-connected mutation, and has since also joined the House as the hero Crystal Quartz. Rosa still is highly protective of Crystal, often to the younger sibling's chagrin.
One villain that has so far been able to elude her is Raptus Regaliter. As a former Crey empoyee and patron of the brothel where Rosa works undercover, Regaliter was once a prime source for inside information on Crey. When Crey discovered Regaliter's activities, he fled to the Rogue Isles. Rosa has attempted several missions to extract Regaliter and bring him to justice in Paragon City, but Regaliter has so far eluded her and other authorities.
