History
Isabel Santos comes from a family of law enforcers. Her mother is a high-ranking member of the NYPD's elite Organized Crime Unit, and during the 1980s and 1990s her father was a legendary street hero known as the Steel Gargoyle. So, it was only natural that Isabel chose a career in law enforcement.
As a rookie officer, Isabel was chosen to go on a joint undercover operation between New York City and Paragon City to gather intelligence on the activities of the Skulls street gang. While undercover Isabel discovered that the Skulls were abducting people and turning them over to Arachnos to be used as test subjects in a superhuman weapons program. Before Isabel could report this, her undercover identity was exposed. Isabel was captured and became a mind-controlled agent of Arachnos.
Isabel spent two years under Arachnos' control, during which she was a participant in various crimes. Eventually, Isabel and her handlers were apprehended when they crossed the path of the hero, Doctor Wolfechyde. Doctor Wolfechylde recognized that Isabel was being mind-controlled and he personally supervised the surgery to remove Arachnos' mind control devices. However, a majority of the Arachnos cyborg combat implants were now vital to the normal functioning of Isabel's body and could not be removed. Following six months of deprogramming and psychological counseling, Isabel was declared to be free of Arachnos' control.
Isabel was formally exonerated of the crimes she had committed while under Arachnos' control. The chief of the NYPD personally awarded her with a commendation, and she was promoted from patrol officer to detective third grade.
Isabel was looking forward to restarting her life, and returning to her career as a police officer. However, she soon learned that despite being officially cleared of any criminal wrongdoing, declared free of any mind control, and commended by her superior officers, no other cops trusted her. The general consensus that Isabel was controlled once, she could be controlled again and couldn't be trusted.
Outcast as a cop, Isabel resigned from the NYPD and moved to Paragon City. In Paragon City, Isabel adopted the identity of Stalking Wolf, a vigilante-hero. As Stalking Wolf, Isabel is determined to use the weapons that Arachnos gave her for evil to protect the weak and to be a force for good.
