The Floor 13 Project (Justice Supergroup)/Known Projects

The scope and purpose of the plots of the Floor 13 Project depend largely on who came up with them first, and range from skunk works prototype construction, to illicit materials trade, to intelligence gathering and spying operations. Much of what is known about the listed projects comes from the villain Terminus’ attack on Floor 13, and yet much of the file data was corrupted by unexpected security measures, so information other than the generalities that FBSA language analysis programs have been able to put together is scarce.

The current list may have grown, and the status of projects changed, since that time.

  • Projects 10, 11, 12, 13: These project files were created in succession in descending order, presumably with Project 13 as a final goal requiring several prior steps. Discussions regarding Project 10 seem to revolve around the obstacles surrounding the creation of an advanced humanlike intelligence possessing massively more memory storage and processing power for sufficient ‘translation’ and ‘interface’, though with what has apparently been redacted by Terminus himself. Project 11 features discussions and inquiries regarding the ‘information altering’ properties of alchemic operations and the creation of a ‘general translator’. Files reserved for Project 12 mention the laborious task of mapping whatever mysterious object Terminus refuses to share information about, and those reserved for Project 13 involve ‘possible methods of translation’ for constructing a new ‘instance’ of said object.
  • Project Bell: This file has been determined to be the discussion log regarding the development of the mass-teleportation technology commonly utilized by the Floor 13 Project. The technology appears to be based on German WWII experiments with a device by the same name; investigators theorize that Terminus may actually have been one of the scientists working on the Bell before his capture and conscription by the Soviets after the war.
  • Project Good Neighbors: This file has been determined to be the discussion log regarding the retrofitting of the former Wolf Distribution ocean shipping fleet into remote operations bases, manufacturing plants, or waypoints to use in conjunction with the product of Project Bell.
  • Project Ranger: This file has been determined to be the discussion log regarding the construction and placement of Floor 13.
  • Project Edge: This file features a high number of mentions of the Council’s vast operating network and its possible interference with the Floor 13 Project’s work. The discussion seems to evolve into the practicality of creating a network of F13’s own informants. This file marks the first point where at least one unidentified member of F13 contributes.
  • Project Rocky Road: This is a short file regarding Forsaken Red’s rapid development of something involving an alchemical process which will add to F13’s revenue. Analysis suggests that the product of Rocky Road can even be deactivated if used against the organization, implying that it may be something already in use by other, unsuspecting parties.
  • Project Ant Farm: This file has been determined to be the discussion log regarding the creation of the “Unternet”, a computer network linked together by technomagical means, accessible through computer devices by several different methods, and controlled under the watch of Panopticon and the rest of the Floor 13 Project. While this system is currently being used mostly by curious or daring independent developers or startup villain groups apathetic to having their operational planning observed by another group, it is also being used by parties in countries where access to the Internet proper is restricted in order to connect with the entire network. As such, analysts believe that if Internet access becomes increasingly restricted in the future, the popularity of the Unternet or other copycat networks will grow; therefore, it is believed that the Unternet was the first product of the Floor 13 Project to match up with its publicly stated goals.
  • Project Morpheus: Any information about this project was gained through a file whose contents have been classified by the FBSA and the United States Government. The explanation given to the public by these bodies is that the file contains ‘harmful content of an unidentified nature’ and that if you or someone you know is believed to have suffered the effects of viewing the file after acquiring it by some means, you should contact the given phone number/email address immediately.
  • Project Orchestra: Any information about this project was gained through a file whose contents have been classified by the FBSA and the United States Government. The explanation given to the public by these bodies is that the file contains threatening information on weapons of mass destruction.
  • Project Goldenrod: This file contains a discussion regarding energy production. Materials believed to be related to Project Goldenrod were discovered during an Arachnos raid led by Operative Serpico on a Floor 13 Project materials plant in February of 2011, but more details were lost during F13 recovery and retaliation operations.
  • Project Black Poppy: This file contains a discussion regarding algae production and devolves into a heated argument, with Tinsel Black as the primary antagonist speaking out against the project. The discussion cools and turns to the project’s interaction with Project Goldenrod.
  • Project Blue Rose: This file has been determined to be a discussion log regarding mass desalination and methods of water purification.
  • Project Ultra Red: This file contains Forsaken Red’s explanations to unidentified laymen about the most recent discoveries of the villain Dr. Brainstorm regarding the origins of super powers and how they explain why the Grandville Web functions. The discussion also mentions power ‘creation’ or ‘duplication’ and interactions with Projects Orchestra and 13.
  • Project Ultra Black: This file features further inquiries begun by Tinsel Black into the principles of operation of the Grandville Web, suggested ‘useful’ magics, and various synonyms of ‘compactness’.
  • Project Static: This file features inquiries by Tinsel Black on the subject of pharmaceutical manufacturing and a ‘product’ that she has gained access to for such purposes to increase F13’s revenue. The discussion tapers off into bickering about temporary outsourcing due to F13’s lack of knowledgeable biochemists.
  • Project Spectrum: This project was uncovered by Crey’s Task Force Apollo in June of 2009, and appears to be the only Arachnos-F13 joint project. It involved mining data on super-powered Aeon Entertainment users once they entered the virtual reality to analyze their abilities for Arachnos’ use.
