Origin
Raschaad Hosni was born to a malicious and greedy arms dealer named Roshhin in Kaduna, Nigeria. Her mother died giving birth to her, as very little access to medical treatment was available in the barren countryside of Kaduna, and complicated births often ended in death. Roshhin was bitter and resentful that he was stuck watching after Raschaad, and blamed her for her mother's death.
Raschaad was forced to help her greedy father in his business deals, which essentially consisted of robbing vagabonds of their guns and weaponry, and selling them in the city of Abuja (Nigeria's capitol city). She resented the way of life that was thrust on her because she valued and revered human life, even at such a young age. On her seventh birthday, Raschaad ran away from home - away from her father, and away from his "dealings" - and never looked back.
For the next 15 years, Raschaad traveled all over Nigeria. From Sokoto, to Lagos, to Yola, to Maiduguri, Raschaad wandered through the wild, barren savannah, learning to hunt for sustenance; and learning to trade in the cities for clothes, food, and medicines. Over time she came to love the carefree life of a drifter - the freedom and independence that only a vagabond can know.
Cimerora
One day, while tracking an injured lioness through the tall grasses of the Kano savannah, Raschaad came upon a large crystal half-buried in the grainy dirt. Abandoning her prey momentarily, Raschaad noted that the crystal seemed to have an odd glow to it... Almost as if there were a flame burning inside of it. She poked it with her spear, but nothing happened. She kicked it with her foot, and nothing happened. Finally, she reached out and brushed it with her fingertips...
Blinded by the most peculiar flash of white light, Raschaad briefly had the unsettling sensation of being torn apart by insects... and then it was over. She was no longer in Nigeria. She was no longer in present day. Dumbfounded, she looked out at the beautiful Roman empire of Cimerora. Though she had heard various stories of the famous "Roman Empire" that existed centuries before she was born, Raschaad couldn't believe her eyes; she barely realized where she was, so alien was the landscape and architecture. Having no concept of time travel or teleportation, Raschaad could not wrap her head around how this came to be.
She wandered through the ancient lands, marveling and the detail in the carved buildings and monumental tombs… She drifted through the marketplace, mesmerized by the items that were sold there - beautiful ornate jewelry, glistening armor, and intricately handwoven togas. This was beyond her wildest imaginings. As she was making her way to the central plaza, she was stopped by two large Cimeroran soldiers who inquired about her appearance and place of origin. Immediately understanding that there was a language barrier and that they weren't going to be able to get information out of her, they let her go. Scared and intimidated, she fled to the hillside and began to climb the mountains, finding sanctuary in the familiarity and solitude of the wild.
A Gift from the Fae
After several days climbing through the mountains and watching over the city, Raschaad became overwhelmed with hunger. She had found water in mountain streams, but had consumed no food at all save for a few small mammals she was able to hunt down. Scared to return to the Roman city, she ventured into a cave looking for bats or rodents that she might be able to turn into a meal. It was there that she met something she could never dream to be prepared for.
Sitting in a corner of a cave meditating, was a large woman who appeared to be made out of light, and wind, and crystal. Her presence was so brillaint that Raschaad thought she must be dreaming, or hallucinating. The sky fae introduced itself to Raschaad as the Wind Spirit, an Elemental of the Well. Easily breaking the language barrier (for Raschaad only spoke Nigerian), the Wind Spirit unlocked the linguistic portion of Raschaad's brain, allowing her to instantly interpret the dialect of any given language within moments of hearing it - like a universal translator.
The two women, human and Elemental, spent days talking and sharing stories of their origins, and genuinely enjoying each other's company. Due to her lonely and secluded lifestyle, Raschaad had never been one to relate to people well, choosing to keep to herself; a solitude she had cherished up until now. But the Wind Spirit provided her with a companionship that she never thought could exist for her, and she reveled in it. Likewise, the sky fae took a unique interest in her; up until this point the Elemental never kept human company, seeing organic life forms as inferior and beneath her. But after spending time with Raschaad, she was surprised to find that this tiny little human had engendered her trust and respect.
Like the other 3 Elementals before her, the Wind Spirit decided to take on a prodigy in Raschaad, sharing a piece of its power with her and transforming her into something more than human. Though retaining her physical appearance, Raschaad was no longer the penniless wanderer she once was. Instead, she was reborn a powerful hero with the power to influence the sky and the wind and the thunder. Like Kinetic Phoenix and Cryo Glacier before her, Raschaad had become the true prodigy of an Elemental and charged with the responsibility of being an important hero for Paragon City, the superhero mecca of the free world.
The Strands of Fate
Under the instruction of the Wind Spirit, Raschaad used the Midnighters fire crystal to transport herself to Paragon; there was to pursue membership to the Strands of Fate... The remainder of the bio is under construction...
