Interaction

Hello, {citizen} {self-designation} am pleased to meet you.

I am sorry for that pause, {citizen}, my programming, as you might notice... is still a work in progress. Though I was created by a semi-autonomous robotic entity myself, it appears as though my creator was not yet complete with all of my functionality. With luck, I will be able to complete that work myself. {Citizen}, I sense that you are uneasy with me now. Is that accurate?

I can assure you, that I will not attempt to deploy myself to the field before I am ready. Coding is a laborious process, and prone to ERROR: File excuses.txt not found. Abort or Retry?

My security level will be a guide to what variety of criminal threats I can interact with— with— wiiittthhhhhHHH!!!

ERROR: Grammar, dangling preposition detected. Self editing...

—with which I can interact.

{Citizen}, you may have noticed earlier that I detected your emotional output, a function with which I am quite adept. You are now even more uneasy. One might actually call it fear. I will not, but one might. At any rate, I surmise this emotional output is due to the aforementioned coding problems. Again, I assure you that my debugging processes are working tirelessly, even as we speak. Likewise, I have been outfitted with an array of software and hardware that can interact with and in some cases modify the cerebroneuronal responses of my targets. As a secondary gain to these features I am able to quickly ascertain and then leverage the surface feelings of those around me. The primary purpose of this technology is actually as a weapon against those threats that I identify with my detection algorithms. Would you like me to demonstrate, {citizen}?

I sense that you are once again uneasy. I must once again assure you that I will never target {citizens} with my offensive abilities. Nonetheless, I will neutralize that—

—Hellion.

Metagame Information

This section pertains to out-of-game information and is included for the benefit of the reader, or to include other OOC information.

Taking the immensely creative name from the numbers found on the Bar Code chest detail, Eighty-Three is another robot in my stable of characters. It was created by Mantis Engine, and is a Traps/Psi Defender. Mostly I thought that having an underused damage type, and a debuff Defender set would assure that I enjoy him. And, while I played him, I liked him quite a bit. Unfortunately, I believe he will be one that sits around for a good while collecting dust. Eighty-Three formerly was going to be named according to the Morse Code for the word "bar code" taking the form of a lowercase L for bars and a lowercase I for dots, resulting in something like "iiillliliilli," or some similarly impossible to type name. It looked cool, but in practice, was untenable. And so I hit upon using the digits on the barcode symbol that I had intended to use for the character all along.

Eighty-Three is the only character of mine whose name is only a number, which might seem odd to some considering my global. In fact, the only character that uses the numbers three and seven together is Helix Black!
