I'm shocked … Gloomy Crush has betrayed me. There, I've said it. My terrific apprentice decided that I've taught him enough. All that time he was still loyal to the Skulls, not to me … although I have betrayed apprentices of mine before. Perhaps he was actually afraid of me. Perhaps I should be proud of him for this … But I should definitely be mad at him. I'll be the laughing stock of the Isles if I let him get away with this … especially since it's the Skulls of all people. Go to them, and bring Gloomy back to me alive. I gotta ponder what to do with him; also, they'll be expecting me, blah blah blah.

The Skulls … The Hellions are their archrivals … Things make sense now. Crush must have faked their attacks to make me harm them. No, I can't let them take advantage of me and get away with it, my rep would be ruined. Particularly because they're a smalltime gang. Especially if the Skulls actually triumph over the Hellions now. The Hellions might claim that I – we – were in league with the Skulls. Their own sympathizers would hate us. Make it clear to the Skulls that we're not working with them. We'll see who Crush sides with at the end of the day.

Patrol dialogue 1 Skull 1: Gloomy seems to regret his return. He seems to believe that Evil Huntress is really "pure evil". Skull 2: Perhaps she /wants/ to attack, and he's to demoralize us … wait, are we doing that ourselves now?

Patrol dialogue 2 Skull 1: By the way … what do you think of that Architect thing? Shouldn't there be lots of privacy issues? Skull 2: Definitely! I swear, if somebody makes a story with me as an enemy …

Dark Deadener dialogue Before combat: You know, maybe we shouldn't have pressured Gloomy into returning … Combat start: Incoming! 75% Health: You're wasting your endurance! Crush is no longer here! 50% Health: I'm serious! He left through a back door!

So … Crush had expected us and escaped. Perhaps he's gonna return and claim it was a misunderstanding. I'd likely take him back, of course not without giving him a major fright.
