Shields of Fiminster

The Shields of Fiminster are a custom enemy group, first appearing in a minor role in the Mission Architect story arc Rise of the Fiend Girl and then as the primary antagonists of Crusaders vs. Heroes. They are mystical vigilantes who fight to rid the world of evil (or what they perceive to be such). |
Characters History
The Shields of Fiminster were originally formed to protect and serve Palma Fiminster, a sage and prophet who lived in the village of Mumblebridge, Kentucky and was speculated by some to be a nexus of magic. As word of her spread across the land, numerous villains appeared in order to take advantage of her. However, Palma was unable (or possibly unwilling) to defend herself, and so her son Titus vowed to protect her, allying himself with other powerful mages to this end.
Eventually, in 2005, a villain who apparently considered it a challenge to take Palma Fiminster down successfully poisoned her food, killing her. Unwilling to abandon her cause (or what he perceived it to be), Titus Fiminster continued to expand the Shields and began a crusade to rid the world of evil.
However, the Shields of Fiminster are frequently critized as fanatics or fundamentalists. Notably, they appear to consider dark powers and even certain beings (whom others may believe to have a free will) inherently evil. Such views have even led to fights with other heroes; one such incident took place in late September 2007 at a museum in Boston where Shields attacked a group of heroes from Paragon City whom they believed to be villains.
